What do you do to make a healthy UNH?
Actively go to the gym and eat healthy. Additionally, I walk to all classes and mostly everywhere on campus. Walking throughout the day helps me achieve my daily goal of 10k steps.
Do you have any tips for eating healthfully?
I try to eat 3 substantial meals a day and I always keep granola or a protein bar in my bag for a snack. I notice when I am hungry it affects my ability to stay focused.
Have you made any tangible improvements regarding your movement or physical activity by making positive changes in your life?
Trying to go to the gym more often and trying the Local B Barre classes in the center of town.
Do you have any positive words of encouragement for members of our audience who are feeling completely drained and burnt out from this pandemic?
The lifting of the mask mandate on campus was definitely encouragement to finish the semester strong.
What do you do to improve your emotional wellness?
Practice self-care at least once a day. Some self-care includes going on a drive, a face mask, taking a nap, listening to my favorite songs etc.
What does health mean to you?
Health means feeling good about myself and maintaining a positive mindset.
Over the last year, have you felt more comfortable advocating for yourself when receiving healthcare?
Yes, especially within the last year. COVID has helped me become more comfortable advocating for myself.
